Over the last few days I have written about the issues I have had with British Airways- here are some ideas about how to complain effectively. These can be used for pretty much any situation.
- If you remember just one thing, remember this. Keep copies of all relevant documentation. This includes all e-mails, letters, ticket stubs, receipts, related to the situation.
- When you call Customer Service, state the facts, and try to get the person you talk to to look at the situation from your point of view.
- Remember that the job of the Customer Service representative to listen to your issue, but they rarely have any power to resolve the issue. However, they can serve a very important function which is to guide you to the right way to get things done within their company. This can be very important and save you a lot of time.
- Do not hesitate to ask for names, and to take things to a higher level if you are not satisfied with the answers that you are given.
